Communities Are All That’s Substantial: Kurt Vonnegut’s Post-liberal Political Thought
Vonnegut’s politics presented in his literature show him to be not merely a critic of modernity, though he certainly is, but also more positively a sort of localist or communitarian whose view of man’s nature puts him at odds with philosophical liberalism broadly, and whose desire to see intimate communities flourish was primary.
